Coldplay

A bit of history

Coldplay is a British rock band formed in London in 1996. Vocalist, rhythm guitarist and pianist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion met at University College London and began playing music together from 1996 to 1998, first calling themselves Pectoralz and then Starfish before finally changing their name to Coldplay.

From 1998 until 2020, they've recorded 9 albums. The one that made them worldwide famous was their single "Yellow" from "Parachutes" album (1999).In terms of awards, they've been nominated 525 times from which they've won 187. (Wikipedia).

Viva La Vida

"Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends!" (2008) is their 4th album as Coldplay, in which the release their single "Viva La Vida" which contains historical and Christian references as the lyrics.This song has been the band's highest charting single becoming their only one to get to #1 in the Billboard 100 chart and the second one from a British band since "Wannabe" (1997) by Spice Girls.
