Rome History

Why do you think it's important to learn about ancient civilizations?To know more about the ancient history. So we can know more about our culture, from the past.

Rome is situated in the Italic Peninsula, more specific it started in what we call today Italy.

Republic

The republic of Rome started when the noble men threw out the king of Rome and replaced it with two people called consuls, they were like kings, but they can only be on power for 1 year to not come to powerful.

There was three people Marc Anthony, Octavian and lipids, a war started when Octavian take oof the power from lipids. So, then Octavian and Marc Anthony came to a war and finally Octavian won. That is when Rome as a republic ended.

Empire

Related to how rome ended as a republic has to do with how rome started as an empire, it started when Augustus proclimed himself emperor in 27 BC.

During rome as an empire they made diferent allaies but, the gerain tribes was one of them and in 300s the barbarian reachen the roman borders and in 476 the Germanic leader Odoacer made a revolt and took down the Emperor Romulus Augustulus.

The Rome Coliseum is one of the most known building of the ancient Rome, at that time in the coliseum they were fights between gladiators and some wild animals.

Some of the most important gods in Rome were Jupiter, the god of thunder and Juno, the godess of marriage.
