a history of God, as described in three consecutive psalms
TRUSTWORTHY
01
The Premise
God can be trusted
and he can prove it.
Throughout the history of the world, God has shown himself as trustworthy. While it can be a little bit difficult to portray the perfect faithfulness that makes him so worth trusting, because... a) he doesn't set out to prove himself trustworthy - he just is, and b) his faithfulness is best seen over long, long periods of time... there is a set of Psalms (104-106) that do a pretty excellent job of it.

02
The Psalms
Praise the LORD, my soul. LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
Psalm 104:1
Start at the start
Psalm 104 is full of language that stretches all the way back to the beginnings of the universe, as God provides his first promises to humanity that he will provide for them with love and generosity. Notice the way the Psalm tells the story of creation.
+ info
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Psalm 105:1
Keep it going
Psalm 105 tells the story of the beginnings of the nation of Israel, God's chosen people in the Old Testament of the Bible. It praises God for being with them generation after generation and explains how they ended up in Egypt.
+ info
Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Psalm 106:1
Change it up
Psalm 106 has a different emphasis than 104 & 105. Instead of focusing almost entirely on positive moments in history, Psalm 106 points out several low moments in the history of God's people - and yet still can show how incredibly loving God is to them. It's never been about their performance!
