The French Lummiere brothers improved on Edison's Kinescope and invented the Cinématographe, which was a camera, a projector and a film printer all in one.
The first cinema opened in Paris , films were scenes of moving images. GEORGE MELIES introduced the idea of storytelling in films and was the first person to use special effects.
Introduction of sound to "The Jazz Singer" in USA.The first attempts to add synchronised sound to projected pictures used phonographic cylinders or discs.
Cinema was the main form of entertainment, with people often attending cinemas twice a week. Cinemas could hold over 3,000 people in a single auditorium.
With the encreasing of the TV the Hollywood golden age ended and the films began to reflect the social changes
