Partnering for a successfull preschool transition requires the implementation of concerted actions, through a coordination that fosters reflection, and by the engagement of various multisector partners, within a positive climate. Knowledge of and a clear definition of each person’s role, active listening and valuing the skills of each partner are essential elements to foster the progress of the various projects. Early involvement of partners is also desirable. The definition of a common vision that places the child and his or her family at the centre of the intentions is also essential. It helps target concrete objectives that drive collaboration between partners, the implementation of effective transition practices and the planning of the evaluation of these practices.
