We can find in the vegetable garden a lot of different species of plants and even insects! The pupils have made lasagna gardening, which are successively layered mounds of various organic materials (dead leaves, twigs, fresh grass) that improve the quality of the soil for gardening (natural fertilisers).

Discover the pond's Biodiversity

As a place with higher humidity and lower temperatures, the pond contributes to the perservation of areas and species threatened by urbanisation. It is a much needed safe haven for fauna and flora.

Once upon a time...

In 2018, Green’Evariste wanted to create a new space of biodiversity. The idea of the pond was born...

With the help of an association -Aventure Nomade- we began to make plans and dug two holes in the ground.

Because the soil was made of clay, we tried to make a natural pond (with no human material, clay being waterproof), but it didn’t work. To make sure the ponds wouldn’t dry out, we put tarpaulin on the bottom of the ponds.

Finally, in order to protect biodiversity and attract butterflies, dragonflies and other insects, we planted buddlejas, laurels, irises and reeds.

To prepare for the inauguration, which took place on Water Day, fish were put in the ponds : six goldfish and two beautiful koï carps.
