To talk about an unreal situation with reference to the present.

To talk about facts, such as scientific facts, or when the result of the condition is always true.

Describes possible future events and their likely results.

Describes a situation that didn't happen, and to imagine the result of this situation.

USE

if + Past Simple+ would + base form

if + past perfect+ would + have + past participle

Structure

If + Present Simple+ Present Simple

If + Present Simple + will + base verb

If I had left earlier, I wouldn't have missed my flight..

If I won the lottery, I would travel around the world

You get water if you mix hydrogen and oxygen.

If I wake up late, I will miss the bus.
