English Escape Room

This is our escape room and everything that we have here is related to Christmas! Solve the escape room to keep Grinch from stealing Christmas!

Welcome!!

You wake up, and immediately realize you’re not on your bed. Instead of feeling warm and comfortable, the cold marble floor makes you jump. The room had been completely consumed by the darkness. Your first thought is that you fell out of your bed, but you quickly realize something bigger is happening. You don’t feel hurt, but you pass your hands over your body to verify anyway. Fortunately, you don't notice anything unusual. Your watch tells you it is almost two o’clock in the morning, but you are fully dressed, including a long warm raincoat, typical from that time of the year, and your favourite lethear boots. In that moment you realize you should try to get out of there, because clearly you were not supposed to be in that place. Your eyes have adapted to the darkness, but you decide to take out your smartphone and use its flashlight. The phone’s lantern allows you to understand the environment around you. At first, the light blinds you and you can see nothing, but you quickly start seeing things well.

What object will you light first?

You have only the objects on the table: the oil lamp, the candle and the torch. You have at your disposial one single match.

To continue exploring the room, you are going to need some light.

In front of you is a small, old table, with three objects on it. The first one is something you haven’t seen in a long time, but that you recognize as being a very old but apparently functional and old oil lamp made of bronze. The second one is something more common, but that still surprises you: a golden wax candle with a wick that, according to your calculations measures, approximately, 10 centimeters. The third and last object is an ordinary macht box with, as far as you can see, only one match inside. In the wall, right next to the table, is a torch made with a wooden trunk, that on its upper part has a tissue with a smelly inflammable liquid. You look back at your phone, ready to proceed the exploration, but you notice two very important things: First, you have absolutely no signal. “Great”, you think. “Now I have no idea where I am and I can’t even call anyone”. And second, you are almost running out of battery. If you want to do something, you are going to have to be quick.

Failed!!! You better hurry, or I will steal Chirstmas!! Muahahahah!

Good choice! to light any of the other objects, you have to turn the match on first! With the light you now have, you easly explore the entire room. At firs you don't seen anything, but then you notice a very small door in the wall. You try to open it and, contrarly to what you were expecting, the door opens. On the other side, a bright light is waitng for you...

You walk in a room with many Christmas decorations. It has Christmas ribbons with many colors. and a giant Christmas tree, full of red and gold ornaments, with a large star made of gold on the top. Below this Christmas tree, there are lots of gifts with many colors and shapes. In the major wall, a massive stone fireplace warms up the entire room. There are giant socks hanging on the top of it. In the center of the room, a big table with the best looking Christmas meals you have ever seen. Next to this tree is a soft wooden desk with many carvings, on the top of which are one closed box and a small letter. You walk to the desk in order to read what is written in the letter. You see nothing on it but an address:

You look closly at the box. It’s closed, but there is a lock. To open the box, you need a 5 number combination.There is nothing you can do to open it, so you walk away. As you get close to the table, you notice four impressive granite satues. The first statue carries gold; The second carries silver; The third satues carries incense; The final statue carries myrrh. You immidiatly notice there is an intruder, but you can't remember what is.

Who is the intruder?

Great! You take the the piece of silver from the statue, and something starts to apen. The statue opens itself and inside it you see a small object. you quickly grab it to inspect it. It' s definitly a flash light, but it's different from the regular ones. As you look closer, you realise it's a black light lantern. To turn this object on, there are three buttons: one green, one blue and one red. The flash light comes with a qustion: "what collor does Santa Claus wear?" and an inscription: "made in 1890"

The flash light turns on! As you were expecting, it's a black light lantern. You remember the box that you couldn't open because you didn't had the code, and you decide to searchfor it.

You foud it! Carefully, you put the code and try to open the box. it opens at your first try. Inside it there is a letter and a small, iron key. You grab the letter and read carefully.

To who ever is reading this, Help! The Grinch is about to perform is giant evil plan! We are all traped and there is nothing we can do. Please save Chrismas! You are our only hope. The elves

You grab the keay and run to the door. Your body his thinking faster than your mind, but you can open it and leave. In the other side, The Grinch is waiting for you....
