AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This is an excellent program for students who like to work on cars and trucks, or who have an interest in going to work in field of automotive service and repair. Courses are taught by Ivy Tech instructors and students get to work on vehicles in Ivy Tech's state-of-the-art automotive lab. Students can earn numerous college credits as well as ASE student certifications while they complete much of the coursework toward an Ivy Tech Technical Certificate.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Students in Construction Technology enjoy spending a great deal of time outside of the classroom, as each year they build a home from the ground up. This program provides students instruction in the field of carpentry, including laying floors, framing walls, installing doors, windows, and cabinets, as well as interior and exterior finishing. Students are eligible to earn college credit and professional certifications, and this program provides students a pathway to apprenticeship with the Indiana-Kentucky-Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters.

COSMETOLOGY CAREERS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Students in the MACC Cosmetology program learn and complete all the Cosmetology state standards through theory lessons and working on actual customers in Amber's Beauty School. Students are trained in giving shampoos, scalp treatments, hair styling, setting, cutting, straightening, perming, and coloring, as well as facials and manicures. You will also learn about bacteriology, anatomy, hygiene, sanitation, and about salon management, record keeping and customer relationship skills. This is an excellent choice for any student who is seriously considering a career in the field of cosmetology.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Criminal Justice program begins with a birds-eye view of the American criminal justice system and zooms in on particular areas of study and practice. Students who have an interest in law, policing, criminal investigation, and law enforcement support will enjoy the opportunity to practice traffic stops, study crime scenes, analyze crashes and accidents, apply physical tactics to real-life scenarios, and demonstrate offender apprehension procedures. Students can earn college credit through this course, and second-year students may be able to participate in internships and attain professional certifications to help them jump start their career in law enforcement.

DENTAL CAREERS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Dental Careers is the best choice for any student with an interest in the field of dentistry and dental care. In this program, students use dental instruments and practice procedures in a dental operatory just like the one you visit when you go to your own dentist's office. First-year students finish the year with a six-week internship in a dental office, and second-year students learn how to operate an oral x-ray machine and engage in an extended internship. If you are itnerested in work as a dental assistant, hygienist, lab technician, or dentist, this is where you need to be!

DIGITAL DESIGN
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Digital Design program is an excellent option for students interested in design, photography, video animation, and working in the fields of digital, online, and print media. Students will learn to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere, and will also have a chance to work in 2-D and 3-D modeling and animation, basic website development, video recording and production, and other multimedia applications and project development.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Sing songs, run on the playground, play dress up, and read Dr. Seuss in the Early Childhood Education program. Students in this program learn about educating young children through classroom lessons and internships in local preschool and early elementary classrooms. Students learn about child development, basic health and safety principles, lesson planning, center management and operation, as well as licensing and regulation requirements. Students who complete the second-year program have the opportunity to earn the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Electrical Technology is the program for students interested in learning all about electrical circuits and residential wiring. Students in this program get hands-on training in the electrical lab and partner with the Construction Technology class to run power and install outlets, switches, and fixtures in a newly-built home. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit through Ivy Tech, as well as multiple professional certifications through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

FIRE & RESCUE
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Do you want to be a fire fighter or emergency responder? In Fire & Rescue, students prepare for careers as life-savers by practicing methods of entry as well as rescue principles and protocols, and utilizing all types of fire fighting equipment including hoses, pumps, extingishers, ladders, axes, gas masks, and hydrants. Students will have the chance to certify in Fire Fighter I and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). If you have a heart for helping others and a taste for excitement, this is the program for you.

HEALTH SCIENCE
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Students in the Health Science program are often interested in careers in nursing and patient care. Students practice taking vitals and implementing various patient care protocols, all the while preparing for a 75-hour practicum setting them up to earn their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential at the end of their first year. Second-year students participate in an extended internship at a health care facility while studying for their Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential. Both first- and second-year students are able to earn college credit in this program.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The EMT program is a perfect fit for any student who is serious about a career in the field of emergency medical services. Students in this program participate in a rigorous education and training program to prepare them for the EMT National Registry exam. In addition to learning about the fundamentals of health care, medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and emergency response, students will engage in hands-on experiences and ambulance runs and ride alongs to prepare them for the exam and for work in this critical area.

PURDUE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
In Purdue Engineering Technology, students have the opportunity to earn Purdue college credits while learning the fundamentals of engineering and design through project-based, problem-solving learning. Second-year students complete additional Purdue college courses while participating in extended internships with local manufacturing and engineering firms. This is an excellent program for any student who wants to dive into engineering and design technology and get a jump start on thier college career.

WELDING TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Welding Technology program is a great fit for students who enjoy working with their hands and want to learn the ins and outs of multiple welding processes. First-year students work in the brand new MACC welding lab, and second-year students study under the instruction of Ivy Tech faculty in their updated facility. Welding students are able to attain multiple college credits, and students can earn American Welding Society (AWS) certifications on their way to a Technical Certificate through Ivy Tech.

Software developers use computer code to create, design, deploy and support computer software across a variety of applications, In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of operating systems, database technology, cybersecurity, and cloud implementation. You will also develop programs and scripts using various languages, and you will build websites using HTML and CSS.

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE - ELECTRICAL
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Muncie Delaware Advanced Technologies Academy (MDATA), students learn about the field of advanced manufacturing through classroom and lab training and instruction. Students also have the opportunity to earn college credits through Ivy Tech, and to become SACA-certified in multiple credentials over the course of two years. Second-year students gain valuable on-the-job experience through internships with local manufacturing firms.
