Silver Fern

This fern is known to reach a height of 33 feet or more. It is considered a symbol of New Zealand and is used in the logo of the New Zealand Rugby ( XV1 team). It is also the subject of a proposal for a new flag for New Zealand: the silver fern flag.

• The coat of arms of New Zealand is the heraldic symbol representing the South Pacific island country of New Zealand. Its design reflects New Zealand's history as a bicultural nation, with a European female figure on one side and a Māori rangatira (chief) on the other.
