6% of the words are Greek (like: Android, basic, cinema, idea) and 6% come from other languages

29% of the words come from latin, like the words:human, animal, dental, science...

29% of the words come from French, like: beef, pork, continue..

Vikings, who came from Scandinavian countries(Norway, Sweden and Denmark), inaded from across the sea, with just 1 invasion that happened in over three centuries.

Britain was a Pagan country, then Saint Augustine came and started converting people to Christianity so he brought languages with him with the Bible that was written in Latin, Greek and Hebrew.

The Normans were french, they had a big battle near the South coast of Britain, they won and took over

They stayed for a while in Britain and built nice buildings and also the Hadrian's wall. They brought their language (Latin) adn integrated it into the common language.

People started exploring the world, going off in ships and finding other countries, finding places like America, India, China.... so people explored and influenced the language

language is still developping, thanks to the internet and the easiness of travelling across the world.

18th-19th century

Many words come from: Asia-> Balcony, bangle, bungalow India-> guru, pajamas, sandals, shampoo... 4% of the words come from the internet, like the verbs to hoover and to google.

15th-16th century

COLONIALISM Britain became invloved politically in other countries, then the British Empire ended and has now the Commonwealth instead.
