Transcript
We tried to identify the user's profile, of the current virtual portal, so that we could elaborate our interview script. With that, we identified 3 types: Student, Teachers and Employees. To generate insights, we conducted interviews with 5 users. 2 students, one is a freshman and the other is a veteran and university employee, 2 university professors and the provost.
USERS
IDEATION
Immersion
PUC Campinas university was looking for an application for its virtual portal. But the idea was to go beyond what the portal is today. They wanted to understand the pains and joys of their users when using the current portal, because they knew that it would only be possible to develop a product for their target audience considering those aspects. Click on the button to see what methods were used in the immersion part.
CONTEXT
After qualitative interviews with our users, we were able to identify our main problems:
PROBLEM
TYPEFACE
We used the idea of the Windows Fone interface as inspiration for the development of our prototype. The idea is to create widgets for the tools, in block format, so that the user could scale it to the size of their preference.
INSPIRATION
“Visibility to important information”: Many important information, such as coordination notices, class schedule, pay stub, books to be returned, among others, are scattered causing the user not to find this information.
“Tools are essential”: Tools are used every day by teachers, students and staff. Without good integration, it ends up hampering usability;
“You need to improve your writing”: The portal's writings have no visual support and there is a lot of abbreviated and poorly structured information;
“Don't make me think”: We saw that the current portal is not intuitive and interactive. It is difficult to find the information that users need, in addition to a lack of organization;
