By Victorian era we mean the period of English history included in the reign of Queen Victoria (of the United Kingdom) which goes from 1837 until her death, in 1901
It marked a wide expansion of the British Empire, thanks to the external policy of Benjamin Disraelli and several governments of England
These decades were characterized by a situation of peace between the great powers, an increase in economic activity, a "refined sensibility" and a strong national trust in Britain
This era is known became known for the employment of minors in factories, mines and as chimney sweeps. Child labor, often born out of economic hardship, played an important role from the beginning of the second industrial revolution:
Weddings in the Victorian Age
Official weddings are always celebrated by pastors of the Anglican church. Weddings with people of other faiths are also accepted.
The church was decorated with flowers and evergreens. The flowers in the Victorian period were so important that sometimes even the bridesmaids wore them on their dresses.
The bride used to arrive at the church either by foot or in a carriage pulled by a gray horse.
The wedding procession takes shape in this period: the bride is preceded by her bridesmaids, accompanied by her father while her future husband is waiting for her at the altar.
The throwing of rice or petals in the Victorian wedding becomes a must
