What's the ILO

The International Labour Organization is an organism specialized in the United Nations and it is in charge of work matters and labour relations.

It was founded in 1919 and its objective is the protection and promotion of the work rights

Declaration of worker's rights

Whereas economic growth is essential but not sufficient to ensure equity, social progress and the eradication of poverty, confirming the need for the ILO to promote strong social policies, justice and democratic institutions

Women working in Cambodian factories for some of the most famous sportswear brands are suffering from repeated mass disasters because of their working conditions.

They were in several dangerous situations like fires because of the temperature of their work place and had really bad times. Their respective brands tried to improve their worker's work places but said it was a complex situation.

These categories are: freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of forced or compulsory labour, the abolition of child labour and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
