Intruduction
Poseidon is the god of the sea, eathquakes and, horses. In Roman mythology Poseidon is called Neptune. He is one of the original six gods, all children of Cronus and Rhea and one of the twelve Olympians, as well. Posaidon's wife was Amphitrited, he was a very dedicated father to all of his children, especially Cyclops.
History
When he was born, he got eaten by Cronus, but got saved by Zeus. He became the ruler of the sea after he and his brothers, Zeus and Hades, overthrown their father and divided the world to each other. He almost never left his underwater domain and his trident.
MYTHS
An important myth of poseidon was The Odyssey. This myth involves around Odysseus trying to come back home after the Troyan war but is delayed by Poseidon. Poseidon was mad because Odysseus had blinded his cyclops son, Polyphemus. He made it impossible for him to come back home by making a sea storm and caused most of his shipmates to die. While Poseidon disliked Odysseus, he never intended to kill him. At the end, ironically, Poseidon´s patrons land, the Phaeacians, were the ones to help Odysseus get home. The Phaeacians ended up punished by Poseidon for helping Odysseus.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion Poseidon was a very intresting and powerfull god. He was also, one of the many greek gods who had a mayor impact in greek culture.
