at an airport

When you want to go abroad, you need to book a flight. When you arrive at the airport, you go to a check-in desk. You need a flight number, a ticket, a boarding card and often a passport.

You leave your luggage (baggage) and move to your gate. You board the plane and flight attendants tell you what to do. You can have an aisle or window seat. The take-off may be stressful but it's good to finally land.Are you scared of flying?

You can buy a ticket at the ticket office. Sometimes you have to change trains to reach your destination. You can get a single or return ticket. When you want to find out what time your train leaves (departs) and arrives, you check the timetable. Sometimes your train is delayed.

You can go hiking. The views are beautiful and you should take photos. It's not easy to climb a mountain but you can also hire a bike. In the winter you can ski or go snowboarding. In the summer you can go camping, put up a tent and make a campfire.

When you go to the beach, you usually swim in the sea, sunbathe, build a sandcastle and collect seashells. You can also go sailing, snorkelling or even scuba diving. Remember to use some sun lotion so that you don't get sunburnt. You want a beautiful tan. At night you can make a fire on the beach.

If you want to find out more about tourist attractions, you can always go to the tourist information office/centre. In big cities there are funfairs and theme parks where you can go for a ride on a roller coaster. Don't forget about historical sights like castles and dungeons. Your friends and family will be happy if they get a postcard or a souvenir.

There are many places of interest to visit in cities all over the world. You can explore the city, sights and area. You can visit museums with amazing exhibitions. Sometimes you have to stand in a queue. In the main square there are usually good restaurants where you can have a bite.
