The Canterville ghost

The Canterville ghost is one of the famous workshop of Oscar Whilde, published in 1887. Hiram Otis, the ambassador of the United States of America buys an English castle. The castle is haunted by a ghost, named Sir Simon, who is forced to spend eternity in the castle walls, beacouse he murdered his wife, leaving an indelible bloodstain on the carpet. The ghost tries to scare the family many times, but fails. In fact, the family is not afraid and makes fun of him. In the end the ghost meets Virginia, who helps him alleviate his suffering.
