In order to know how to say the time, you MUST know how to say the numbers from 1 to 59. Watch TV to revise. Digital time

Hour minutes

You say the hours (from 1 to 12 ONLY) and after you say the minutes (from 1 to 59). (The 24-hour system is mostly used in specialist fields when the 12-hour clock can bring confusion -> transport, hospitals, computing systems) You add a.m. : from midnight to midday You add p.m. : from midday to midnight -> it is nine fifty-two p.m. (you can write it : 21:52 or 9:52 p.m.)

You say the minutes (from 1-29) and after you say the hours (from 1 to 12 ONLY) .

quarter past : et quart half past : et demie quarter to : moins le quart

When the minutes are on the green side, you say the number of minutes there is left until the next hour. It's eight to ten on the white clock.
