I was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, in Physics, and with my later win, in Chemistry, I became the first person to claim Nobel honors twice. My efforts with my husband Pierre led to the discovery of polonium and radium, and I championed the development of X-rays.

I am remembered for my discovery of radium and polonium, and my huge contribution to finding treatments for cancer. This work continues to inspire our charity's mission to help people and their families living with a terminal illness make the most of the time they have together by delivering expert care, emotional support and research.
