It is the music that accompanies a TV program, radio, movie, advertisement, video game, etc. It is more often called cinematographic music or Soundtrack It is often called "background music" and creates an atmosphere for the action of the moment.

1. MUSIC HELPS US IDENTIFY THE PROGRAM • The music theme of some programs is sometimes so well known that only by listening to it can you say what program it is, even if you are in another room and only listen to the music

2. MUSIC TRANSPORTS US TO THE PROGRAM ITSELF FOR ITS MUSICAL ENVIRONMENT • Without incidental music it would be boring and many programs would not have had the success they have achieved
