HOW DOES A SEED GROW INTO A PLANT?
Seeds are coming in lots of different shapes and sizes: from very small to very large
Most seeds need to be planted into the soil
To get started, every seed needs water, air, sunlight and right temperature to germinate
Did you know that popcorn kernels, beans, pease, acorns, and rice are also seeds?
The first part of the plant to come out of the seed is the root
This part pops out
It grows downward
When the seed is sprouted, the plant can make its own food from sunlight, water and right temperature
The young plant will continue to grow getting bigger and bigger, and growing more leaves.

This week we are going to grow a plant. You can choose the seed you like or have at home/school
Decide: -To grow in the soil -To grow using a small container
