I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to teach Second Grade. I have enjoyed this year, students are very dedicated and hardworking, they are also so kind and respectful to each other. Although we have only been together online, I feel as if we are really together in the classroom and time seems to go by so quickly. I also want to take this time to thank you, parents for all your support. I hope you enjoy their poems as much as I’ve enjoyed them.

Take time this year to really list the blessings and joys in your life, and you too will see that marvelous and great things are there and more to come. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Time
By Sadhika Sumodh
Thanksgiving makes me feel like giving and living. It gives me an idea of why you need to give. Family and friends arrive, you feel surrounded by many happy and familiar faces. It makes me feel loved and cared. And that's why it is so obvious that everyone is joyous ! It is a great feeling to feel the beginning of giving. That's why I love Thanksgiving because it's all about giving! Another reason I love Thanksgiving is because everyone feels special and cared for that day. So that is why Thanksgiving is one of the celebrations I enjoy the most because everyone shows joy to all.

Thanksgiving Poem

Today is a fun fun day. Today is Thanksgiving Day! Whole family sits down and enjoys the day. Soon the main food has come The main food was a big, big turkey. We put the big, big turkey in the oven. A few minutes later we take the turkey out. The turkey was hot, hot, hot. In the table, there was a lot of food. We all sit down and eat turkey. Soon the table was messy Still we all had a fun Thanksgiving Day!

Thank You
By Sarah Benavides
Whatever you give me will make me feel appreciated. Whatever I give you will make me feel proud It’s the feeling of pride and love That you get when someone opens What you gave them with a smile. It’s that moment when they say, “Thanks”, that makes it work. So when you get something, say, “Thanks! ”

Thanksgiving
By Ixmel White
On Thanksgiving we light up with joy, It makes us happy, not sad anymore. The grown ups talk, while children play, That’s the joy of a holiday. We sit around while eating turkey, Thank God nothing is dirty, But the children decide not to eat, They think it’s just old and slimy, So they beg their parents for little sweets. After we eat, we sit and talk, Then, we go out for a walk. After six we say goodbye, And we give away a pie. Don’t forget Thanksgiving doesn’t end, It’s something we do everyday without end.

Thanksgiving Dinner!

I bought the turkey and I can't wait to take a bite. I put it in the oven 350 Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, I wait... I put the plate aside then go outside. I saw a black eyed wise man he said, “Hi!” I was in a hurry. I left him in a sigh. I forgot to turn off the stove I dove right into i;t I turned off the stove. I got my turkey. It smelled great! I held it with no mittens and burned my palms. We feasted on the turkey. It was very yummy my tummy is full. Finally I said, “Happy Thanksgiving Day!”

Like a windy day in Fall. Thanksgiving it's just as fun! Kids gathering around And adults laughing with joy. Turkey is so delicious And people are so gracious The seasons come and go But Thanksgiving comes only once. It's cold outside, but the chimney is warm The cookies are right off the oven; We eat lunch peacefully, while the food is warm Happy Thanksgiving!

The Feeling of Thanksgiving
By Dalianys Tapias
Thanksgiving is the time of the year When there’s only happiness without fear Here and there you will hear a cheer And before you know it,Thanksgiving’s here. Not a second too late, the turkey will appear Kindhearted people are always here So this Thanksgiving I‘ll be sincere Giving is something we practice every year. I like it when they raise their cups and say, “Here, here” Villages and cities, countries and states, We all get together at this time every year I really don’t know if we can discuss, There is nothing better than eating with us. Never before have I been locked at home but it’s a way to stay safe without any gear Goodnight, I say, and for once I can Thanksgiving is the time of the year where there’s only happiness without fear.

Thanksgiving Party
By Do Hoon Jung
Today is thanksgiving, The day when Pilgrims party. I wish school would open Because the food is good, But this year we can't have a Thanksgiving party. This year Thanksgiving It’s all about giving. I love all the food It’s always so good. I don’t mind peeling potatoes in the least. Because I enjoy everything at the feast. I wish school would open The whole world seems broken. Thanksgiving parties can be dangerous Too many people can be infectious. But let us be clear Let’s use our masks without fear.
This year, it is different But we can still give thanks, Thanksgiving parties this year, Only with your family. In Korea, Thanksgiving is Chuseok, An important holiday in Korea. Most important food is rice cake. You call your neighbor Put your food on the table . Then you put the stable wall.

I am grateful to my family. Because they give me love and food. My family pushes me not to give up. They fill me up With power and love. My dad is always positive When I get a bad grade He says, “You can do better” That is why I love him so much. My mom makes yummy food For me everyday. My brother helps me and plays games with me. I am grateful for food and water. If there weren’t food or water We would all be dead. When I eat yummy food it makes me happy. I am always happy because my mom makes yummy food. I love food and I love to go out to eat more yummy food.
I am grateful for technology. If there weren’t technology It would be so boring. I play games and it’s super fun. Games make me happy and when I play them With my friends, it is even more fun. Games make me want to be a gamer. I am grateful for this world. Because I live in this world. That’s why I can play games And have friends and a family. Earth’s pollution is getting bad People are throwing trash anywhere and cutting trees. I cannot think for a better place than Earth. I am so grateful for Earth I want this world to keep on going.

I am so grateful for something I am pretty sure some may not consider as something to be grateful for or simply won't write about: Music. The privilege of having access to all my necesites throughout this year is beyond the words of gratitude I have, but the way music has helped me these past few months is unexplainable. From my two #1 bands to the new musicians I have been obsessed with, music really has filled me with a comfort I’m pretty sure no human will ever be able to give me. Just by putting on my headphones and putting my favorite playlist on Spotify can change my day for the better, or make the day more bearable. My passion and love for music has incremented in a way that if this year didn’t happen, music wouldn’t mean the same to me.

I am thankful for many things today and I think that as persons it is important for us to thank everyday, not just thanksgiving, but always. To thank for every little thing because everything is a gift. Today I would like to thank: For my family, for having a family that loves me and is willing to do anything for me and my wellbeing. For my health, for always being a healthy person who almost never gets sick. For having a functional body, which I use everyday to walk, see, talk, touch, breathe, etc. For being able to enjoy nature, the sky, animals, and life. For my talents. For having been born under a roof with many amenities, where I have always had food, a roof and countless other things. For being born under a true gospel, where I have learned countless things and where I can be guided everyday, where I have gained a true testimony and where I know I will never be alone. For my education. The opportunity and ability I have to learn new things everyday and to not be kept in ignorance. For being born in a time where I can grab my phone and communicate to people a thousand miles away from me, a time where I get to have many luxuries. For having met wonderful people, people that I love and appreciate, people that are always there for me. For having electricity, wifi, technology, etc. For being able to help others, through my actions or anything else. For having light, in a world full of imperfections and darkness. For being able to be myself. For being alive. Although there is so much more that I am grateful for, I leave these things written here to express my gratitude.

“Thankful” Imagine having it all no worries no doubts problems would seem so small now imagine having nothing sadness distress all of these feelings would fill up your chest perspective and happiness are not so far apart being thankful for what you have should be a great start forgetting who we are and forgetting the good things we have might lead us in the wrong path encourage the feeling of being grateful even at your lowest
try to stay faithful to the idea that you are not where you want to be but you have what you need to be whoever you want to be look around take a picture don’t forget to be fearful cause one day we could have everything but the next we could have nothing loving and appreciating the little things will make this tough times brighter than what they seem

This year I’m thankful for my family and friends because quarantine has shown me how important they are, and to appreciate them more; no matter how hard the situation gets, if I have people I trust and rely on to be my support system, then I can get through anything, but I also have to be there for them too. I’m thankful for the life my parents have given me, because I don’t need to worry about not having food or about finding shelter from the rain or cold. This year has made me reflect on how privileged I am, and how just because I’m not suffering the consequences of the situation we are living through as a country and even as humans, it doesn’t mean others are not being greatly affected by it.

Not only that, but during quarantine I also got so much closer with my little brother and my parents because we got more time to talk with each other and learn more about each other. Before quarantine I truly believed that friends understand you more than your families, however, with quarantine I learned that family is more important and I am very thankful for my supportive family. Not only family, but I have to be thankful for my friends as well. The reason for this is because I also learned the importance of friends. There are some things that it’s hard to tell your parents, however, I am thankful for my friends for always being there for me no matter what problem I have.

It’s come ‘round again, the Thanksgiving season. It’s really quite different, we all know the reason. From what we can see through our little, flat screen The world has gone crazy and people seem mean. When this vision becomes all we believe, Deep down inside, we all start to grieve For the things that we lost. They’re easy to see. And these visions cloud judgment and alter reality. So when I sit down at my table to eat, I only take stock of every warm seat. I give thanks for what I see, and dismiss what I don’t. Feelings of loss creep in, but control me they won’t. I see the smiles, hear laughs, the cries, the strife, These serve to remind me how fortunate is my life. To be surrounded by love and have people who care Like God’s life insurance, they’ll always be there
To pull me up when I’m feeling low. To keep my spirit lifted from the depths it can go. And I’ll be there too, for whatever they need. I’ll give what I can, and give without greed. Even though I miss friends a family a lot, I still am able to see what I’ve got. This little act of being aware Has helped me through a lot of despair. So again tomorrow I’ll awake to Groundhog’s Day, And see familiar faces that are miles away. Through my little flat screen the faces I’ll see, Will remind me again how blessed life can be. Thanks to people like you, those who hold the vision That this too shall pass, and all this division With people in pods and small units has reason. Then we will give Thanks as we enter our new season.

This year Thanksgiving will be like no other. I am grateful for having the opportunity to share with all my students, teachers, and staff a greeting and some cheer. As long as we allow ourselves to look for the silver lining in during this pandemic, we will be able to hold out until the day we can be together again. Thank you children for doing your best, each and every day, for your resilience, your had work, and your love and kindness to your peers and to your teachers. Thank you parents for allowing us into your homes, for your support and understanding when we reach out to you. Thank you teachers, for the long hours in planning and grading, for not letting anyone slip and fall, for giving of yourselves and your time. Thank you to all of our family members, whom we sometimes neglect because we have work, and yet, they understand and love us anyway. It hasn’t been easy, but we have learned important lessons about ourselves, our families and the world in which we live. It fills my heart to see that our children’s number one gratitude is family. Children are wise, I pray that we too will have the wisdom to prize the simple things in our lives, and to make our lives bigger and better by sharing all the good that we have with those who are less fortunate. It is in giving that we receive our greatest happiness. Happy Thanksgiving Equity Family!

Mercy Papa

Merci Papa Ta force me soutien Ta douceur m'entoure et Ton amitié m'appartient.

Vida te agradezco
By Ms. Alicia Jambrina

Reflecting about Thanksgiving
By Ms. Geraldina Meneses
It is wonderful to look around and discover all that makes our lives as special and unique as they are. We are very blessed to have our beloved ones happy, safe, and close to us. We are also fortunate to have a place to live and the things that supply our needs. It is important to be grateful for what we have, and the best way to show it, is by sharing with those who need it the most. This year has come with challenges that we have overcome successfully. Let’s celebrate this Thanksgiving Day by caring for others!
I am Thankful for… I am thankful for the family I have, I am thankful for the friends I have made, I am thankful for who we are, and for the blessings we get everyday! I am thankful for my students, who are very special for me, I am thankful for what we learn, and for what they can grow to be!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you… 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 In a most difficult year, giving thanks is more difficult than ever. We have all had some negative circumstances this year but, never the less, there are the bright spots of family, hope, and perseverance that sees us through the troubled times. I look forward to the time of restoration and I hope that none of us lose sight of the good things that have remained. I am glad to be part of a diverse community that yet shares a common hope and dream.

This is a time to meditate upon the things and lessons we have learnt through the year and to be grateful for the littlest things we took for granted in the past. My thanks and appreciation to my family, friends, colleagues, students, and everyone who has some part in my life. I am also grateful for my good health, having a home and a job, my life, and the list is endless. I look forward to a great and better year. God bless you all!

I want to express my gratitude to my Heavenly Father for all the blessings we have received throughout the year. It has been a year like no other, but despite all the bad that has happened let's focus on all the good things that we can count. I am extremely thankful to Mrs. and Mr. Justice, Mr. White, all of the teachers and staff at Equity for the effort they have put in order to keep the school running as its best. I am so thankful to all of my students. They are truly the joy of my days. I thank that I can laugh with them almost everyday, that they feel confident with me to talk about their concerns and that I get to hear ther voices virtually. I love you all, I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving and I am looking forward to see you in person again (hopefully soon).
