How will the different amount of physical activity influence the heart rate.
Hypothesis: The more physical activity the higher the heart rate will be. Independent variable: the number of jumping jakcks Dependent variable: the heart rate Controlled variable: the same rate and intensity of physical activity Materials: timer, space for performing jumping jakcs Procedure: 1. Measure your heart rate (place your index and middle finger on the side of your neck and find your pulse; write down how many "beats" you have counted in 60 seconds) 2. Do 5 jumping jakcs and measure your heart reate, than 20 and 40.
ExperimentThe influence of physical activity on the heart rate.

Stomach and the process of digestion
The stomach is a muscular organ located on the left side of the upper abdomen. The stomach receives food from the esophagus. As food reaches the end of the esophagus it enters the stomach through a muscular valve called the lower esophageal sphincter. The stomach secretes acid and enzymes (pepsin is responsible for protein breakdown) that digest food. Ridges of muscle tissue called rugae line the stomach. The stomach muscles contract periodically, churning food to enhance digestion. The pyloric sphincter is a muscular valve that opens to allow food to pass from the stomach to the small intestine.

Title: The role of acid in the stomach Statement of the problem: How will the presence of lemon juice influence the integrity of the fruits Hypothesis: The lemon juice will disintegrate the fruits Independent variable: the presence of lemon juice Dependent variable: the condition of the fruits Controlled variable: (the same) kind and amount of fruits, time, container, place, temperature, amount of light Materials: a zip lock bag or a seethrough container with a lid, fruit, lemon juice of one lemon, timer Procedure:
- Put the same amount of fruit into each bag or container.
- Add lemon juice to one of the bags or containers.
- Put the fruit in the same place and note how it looks and how it feels after applying light pressure.
- Check on the fruit in 4 hours.
- Check on the fruit in 24 hours.
