UNFORGIVING SERVANT

Opening Prayer

ACTIVITY

Kevin saw a mango tree with plenty of ripe mangoes. He thought of getting some fruits and share it with his friends. He pulled the branch lower so he can get some fruits, but he broke the branch. After getting the fruit, he did not mind the broken branch and went on his way.

Sarah noticed that her school service is emitting black smoke as it runs. She told the school service operator about it, and the operator promised to do something about it over the weekend.

Joy is eating her lunch in the canteen. She sees a classmate leaving her plate on the table and is about to leave. Joy calls her attention by saying, "Please do not leave your plate on the table." Her classmate replies, "It is the janitor's job to clean my mess."

Marco and his friends started a campaign to collect plastic bottles in their community. When they have enough bottles, they sell them to an organization that uses them as materials to build houses.

How do we know if the actions we do are acceptable or not?

In our life, we would always encounter situations wherein we have to make choices. In making decisions, we should choose the good ones.

Matthew 18: 21-35

Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

Second, there was the decision of the servant who became cruel to his fellow servant.

First, there was the good decision of the master to forgive his servant.

Every day, we are confronted with situations whereby we have to make decisions. Our Lord tells us to make the right decision all the time.

A good decision makes us happy while a wrong one makes us feel bad and leads to hurt ourselves, others, and God.

  • What do you think is the message of the Gospel?
  • What have you learned from the master in the story?
  • How do you know if your decision is good?
  • Why is it important to make good decisions in life?
