Meanwhile, the uncontable nouns, are the ones that can't be counted because the can't be individualized.
e.g.: wood, water, salt, sugar.
However, we can make uncountable nouns countable if we delimitated them. e.g.: a piece of wood, two cups of water.
What are quantifiers?
Quantifiers:
A quantifier is a word or phrase used to talk about quantities, amounts or degree. They can be used with a noun (determiner) or without a noun (pronoun).
Quantifiers: much and many
The use of these quantifiers is to express negative ideas or to ask questions. For example: She doesn’t need much time Is there still much to do? I don’t have many relatives in the city Do you think many students will fail?
Quantifiers: (a) few / (a) little
Quantifiers: lot of / lots of
Both of these quantifiers have the same meaning, are used to talk about a large amount or number of people or things.
Quantifier: Some
We use some in three different ways: 1. Positive sentences 2. Making offers or requests 3. Asking questions when you thing the answer is yes.
Quantifier: any
We use any in three different ways:1. Negative sentences 2. Questions 3. If statements
