Yes/No questions
questions with Yes/No answers begin with an auxiliary or modal verb (is, are, do, does, did, can, etc) followed by the subject
Are you happy? Do you live in England? Can your sister dance? Did you do it?
Wh- questions
Wh- questions begin with a question word such as who, what, where, when, etc. We put the auxiliary or modal verb before the subject
Where does your mum work? When are you leaving? Why did your sister go there?

Subject/Object Questions
Subject questions are questions we ask when we want to know the subject of the sentence. They usually begin with the words who, what, which

Object questions are questions we ask when we want to know the object of the sentence. They begin with the words who what or which. But they are regular questions - formed with an auxiliary verb!!
Who did you invite to the party?

INDIRECT QUESTIONS
Indirect questions are introduced with: Do you know...? Can you tell me.....? I don't know....... I wonder........ Have you any idea......?The word order in indirect questions is the same as in statements (they are not formed with an auxiliary verb!)

QUESTION TAGS
Question tags are short questions added to the end of a statementto ask for confirmation of, or agreement with, the statement. They are formed with an auxiliary verb and the appropriate personal pronoun. A positive statement is followed by a negative question tag, and a negative statement is followed by a positive question tag: He plays well, doesn't he? He can't do it, can he?
