01. What is water pollution

03. The most common types of Water Contamination

What Is Water Pollution

Water pollution occurs when harmful substances - often chemicals or microorganisms - contaminate a stream, river, lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of water, degrading water quality and rendering it toxic to humans or the environment.

What Are The Causes OF Water Pollution

Water is uniquely to pollution. Know it`s also why water is so easily polluted. Toxic substances from farms, towns, and factories readily dissolve into and mix with, causing water pollution.

The Most Commor Types Of Water Contamination

Oil Pollution

Agricultural

Radioactive Substances

Sewage And Wastewater

01

Agricultural

Not only is the agricultural sector the biggest costume of global freshwater resouces, with farming and livestock production using about 70 percent of the earth`s surfece water supplies, but it`s also a serious water polluter. Around the world agriculture is the leading cause of water degradation

Sevawage And Wasterwater

02

Used water is wastewater. It comes fro our sinks, showers, and toilets ( sewage) and from commercial , industrial, and agricultural activities ( metals , solvent and toxic sludge). The term also includes stormwater runoff , which occurs when rainfall carries road salts , oil grease and chemicals from impermeable surfaces into our waterways.

03

Oil Pollution

Big spills may dominite headlines , but consumers account for the vast majority oil pollution in our sea , including , oil and gasoline tht drips from millions of cars and trucks every day. Moreover, nearly half of the estimated one million tons of oil that makes its way into marine environmrnts each year comes not from tanker spills but from land_based sources such as factories, farms and cities.

Radioactive Substances

Radioactive waste is any pollution that emits radiation beyond what is naturally realeased by the environment . Radioctive waste can persist in the environment for thousands years. Making disposal a major challenge.

04

What Are The Effects Of Water Pollution

02

01

On The Environment

On Human Health

On Human Health

Water polllution kills or can make you ill. Every year, unsafe water sickens about 1 billion people. Ande low_income communities are disproportionately at risk because their homes are often closest to the most polluting indrustries

01

On The Environment

In order to thrive, healthy ecosystems rely on a complex web of animal, plants, bacteria and fungi_all of witch interact, directly or indirectly, with each other. Harm to any of these organisms can create a chain effect, imperling entire aquatic environments.

Let`s Reduce ?

Prevent Water Pollution

What we can do to prevent water pollution

>Reduce your plastic consumption and resuce or recycle the plastic when you can.>Properly dispose of chemical cleaning products, oils and non_biodegradable items to prevent them from ending up in the drain. >Maintain the cars so that there are no leaks of oil, antifreeze or coolant. >Reduce runoff and avoid the application of peticides and herbicides.
