GENERAL TERMS
The liberal revolutions lead to legal foundations for the equality of all citizens before the law, eliminating the states.
However, the IR contributed to economic inequality between the citizens. Because of this, the wealth of every individual became the new criteria of organising the social groups. This society was divided in:

UPPER CLASS
It was composed by the Old Regime nobility, who most of them had lost their privileges but kept their own lands and the walthy middle class. This second sector consisted of bankers, merchants, owner of ransport companies, etc, who improve their economy thanks to the industralisation.
MIDDLE CLASS

This class grew as the conomy continued developing. Technical and scientific advances developed the liberal professions such as lawyers, teachers, doctors, etc. New bancks, companies and offices were created so more civil servants and employess appeared, Finally, a lower middle class appeared. It consisted of merchants and artisans. This class divided with the appearance of the working class
WORKING CLASS

Most of the population was poor. Therefore, this was the biggest class. As the mechanistion developed in agriculture, peasants moved to cities, where they became industrial workers.Most of the urban working class was composed of artisans who worked in workshops, producing shoes... Some lost their jobs as their products were more expensive than those mass-produced. In addition, the proletariat appeared. It consisted of men, women and children who worked in factories. As well, the working class included a smaller tertiary sector employees made up of servants, shop assistants...
