Back

We know that the Incas wrote on stone tablets in gold. One of these stones, known as “the Golden Tablet”, is particularly important because it helps us understand how language has evolved. According to legend it was buried in “La Cueva de los Tayos”.

Back

Yes, but is it still there? In the 1950s there were a lot of expeditions looking for Inca treasure in the Andes. We need to travel back to Ecuador to see if we can find out what happened to “the Golden Tablet”...

Do you want to join us?

Apparently an antique shop in Liverpool bought a lot of Inca treasure in the 1960s. Maybe “the Golden Tablet” is there too! I think we will have to travel in time and see..

Lucy, the explorers were English and they took the treasure to England to sell it for a lot of money.
