J'emploie le prétérit simple pour relater des événements datés et terminés ou qui se succèdent.

  • Dilinger was a dangerous gangster : he stole money from banks and killed many people. One time, he jumped out of a window and escaped.
  • When did he die?
  • He died in 1934. The police didn't catch him alive.
  • What were you doing ?
