the end of the eastern roman empire

  • In AD 365 Emperor Theodosius I divided the Empire into eastern and western Rome. In 410 AD German tribes began to expand their territories over Europe.
  • By AD 456 the Visigots controlled most of Hispania.
  • In AD 476 Eastern Roman Empire collapsed. THIS IS THE END OF "ANCIENT HISTORY" AND THE BEGINING OF MIDDLE AGES.
  • The last Roman Emperor was Romulus Augustus.
