Firefox and Chrome stop supporting Flash in December and January respectively. Safari stopped supporting it in September.

JavaScript is favored by Apple, but Flash is still used all over the internet.

Around the same time, popular websites like Newgrounds, Neopets, Club Penguin, Kongregate, and others become inseparable from Flash.

The same year, YouTube adds mobile-friendly non-Flash options to ship their video app with the iPhone.

Flash becomes part of Adobe's Creative Suite, which includes software like Photoshop and Premiere.

Smartsketch was a graphics editing software with some animation capabilities. These were later expanded upon as the software developed and became more popular.

The words "Future" and "Splash" were combined to make the new name, "Flash."
