Sound is the form of energy that allows us to hear things. It travels in waves and makes the air vibrate. These air vibrations enter our ears.

Sound vibrations travel in all directions very fast, but slower than light.Sound vibrations can travel through different materials: SOLIDS LIQUIDS GASES

But sound vibrations can´t travel through a completely empty space, called a vacuum.

There are no sounds in space, because space has no air.

Machines and transport can produce sounds that are harmful to human and animal life.
