NUTRITION
Nutrition provides your body with nutrients and energy that are necesary for life

SYSTEMS INVOLVED IN NUTRITION
Excretory system
This system expels waste from the body. The main organs are: The kidneys

THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
The circulatory system is made up of blood, blood vessels and the heart
Blood: Is a very important liquid in our body, It is made of water and other components as red blood cells
Blood vessels: They are long tubes and there are 3 types: 1.- Arteries: Carry blood from the heart to all the parts of the body, they transport nutrients and oxygen 2.- Veins: Carry blood back to the heart 3.- Capillaries: They are the smallest blood vessels that connect arteries to veins
THE HEART
The heart is the main organ in the circulatory system, it pumps blood around the body through the blood vessels.
The heart is located in the thorax between the lungs. It contracts and relaxes producing the heartbeat.
The heart has gor four parts, two atriums and two ventricles

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
game 1
Respiration is the process of breathing air
PARTS OF THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
1.- NOSE: Its where the respiratory system starts
2.- THE TRACHEA: it's a tube that connects the nose and the lungs, air goes in and out through the trachea
3.- The trachea is divided into two thinner tubes called BRONCHI
4.- THE LUNGS: they are two spongy and elastic organs
GAME 2
RESPIRATION
The process of respiration involves two breathing movements:
1.- INHALATION: When we breathe in, the thorax expands and air enter to the lungs
2.- EXHALATION: When we breathe out, the thorax contracts and air is expelled from the body
The diaphragm: It's a muscle under the lungs, it contracts when we inhale and it relaxes wen we exhale
Watch the video and learn the process of excretion
NEXT PAGE
EXCRETORY SYSTEM
Waste substances are produced during the process of nutrition, and we eliminate them through excretion
PARTS OF THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM
1.- THE KIDNEYS: these are the main organs, they filter the blood and made urine
2.- THE BLADDER: Is the organ where urine is stored
3.- THE URETHRA: Is a tube throught which urine is expelled
