3. What to expect from Slack
As you can see we’ve made several channels in Slack. We made those channels to structure our conversations into separate subjects. Of course, you’re not obligated to use all of the channels! Follow the conversations in the channels that are most relevant to you and/or those that are mentioned in the courses you're taking. We chose the subjects of the channels very carefully. Do you think it’s time for a new channel? Let us know and we might just add it!

4. How to ask a question
We want to inspire you to use Slack for sharing your questions, ideas and experiences around Virtual Reality and learning. In the video on the right, we show you how to post a message to one of the channels. We are also curious about you! We'd love it if you introduce yourself in the #smalltalk channel. Will you leave a message too?

5. How to respond (1)
If you reply to someone else's message, it's clear to use threads. Threaded messages are a list of comments to a parent or initial message. Hover the parent message, and click the Reply in thread button. You can tick the box below your reply if you want the reply to post as a parent message on the channel, too. In the video, you can see how Marielle answers a question in the #learningmaterials channel.

How to respond (2)
People can also respond to your post. On the left sidebar, you’ll see Threads. In this item you’ll find all threads that you're part of. In Mentions & reactions, you can find an overview of all messages that include a mention of your name preceded by @ (@Robin de Lange, for example).
