What is a reported question?

A reported question is an INDIRECT QUESTION you use to repeat what you or somebody else asked; so you don't use the exact same words.

Let's look at the difference between a direct question and a reported question: Direct -> She asked: “Have you got a computer?“ Reported -> She asked me if I had a computer.

How to use it

A few changes are necessary:1) WORD ORDER 2) Tense 3) Pronouns and possessive adjectives 4) Time/place expressions Introduce the reported question with a reporting phrase. You also have to consider if you are reporting a YES-NO question or an INFORMATION question.
