Gaza
State Of Palestine
The Gaza Strip separated from the oficial governance of the State of Palestine in 2006 when Hamas, a Palestinian Sunni-Islamic fundamentalist militant organization, took over the area. Since then there have been many conflicts between Hamas and Israel and even the Palestinian State and its governors in the West Bank. It's main political rival is the Fatah movement, a Palestinian nationalistic socail democratic political party. Today, the split governance and the considered "civil war" in Palestine, becomes a mayor issue for negotiations with Israel, and the fought for freedom and recognition.
Also known as The West Bank
Recognized by the United Nations, they are the legitimate bureaucratic institution for Palestine. Diplomatic negotiations go through the administration of the current prime minister. And it is in their offices where disputes with Gaza and Israel are mostly mediated.
