UNLESS
( = If not )
USE :
1. UNLESS means the same as if...not. 2. Like if, unless is followed by a present tense, a past tense, or a past perfect tense (never by a conditional). 3. Unless is used instead of if...not in conditional sentences of all types. 4. The order of the clauses doesn't matter with sentences using unless.

If + Past Simple, Conditional Simple
It is used to express unreal situations in the present or future. Often used to express a wish.

(Unlikely) :Possible changes
TYPE III
(Impossible)
If + Past Perfect Simple,Conditional Perfect
FORM :
It is impossible that the condition will be fulfilled because it refers to the past.
