1. Filtration
It is a mechanical process of separating solids from a liquid suspension using a porous medium (filter medium) that permits the liquid to pass while retaining the solids
2. Decantation
It is the process of separating mixtures of immiscible liquids with different densities or the separation of liquid and an insolube solid mixture in which the solid sinks to the bottom of the container, pouring off the liquid.
3. Sieving
It is a separation technique based on the difference in particle size. The sieve is responsible for retaining the larger particles.
4. Chromatography
5. Evaporation
It is a separation method used to separate a mixture (solution) of a soluble solid and a solvent.
6. Simple Distillation
It is a procedure by which two liquids with different boiling points in a solution can be separated. It can be used effectively to separate liquids that have at least twenty degrees difference in their boiling points.
7. Magnetic attraction
It is a procedure that separates ferromagnetic materials such as iron, steel, nickel or cobalt from non-ferromagnetic materials in a mixture
8. Centrifugation
It is the sedimentation of particles having different densities under the influence of the centrifugal force and it is used for separation of superfine suspensions.
