I grew up all over the place...from Hawai'i, to Washington, to Egypt, to Virginia, to Singapore, to Washington (again!), and finally, to my home in Lubbock! When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband, Dion, and my son, Theo! My family means the absolute world to me. We love spending time outside, reading books, and playing games.

Welcome, first graders! My name is Samantha Baker, but some of my favorite people (that's YOU!) call me Mrs. Baker. Something you need to know about me is...I LOVE teaching first grade! This will be my fifth year teaching, and I've spent my whole career at Upland Heights. Before teaching first grade, I taught third grade for two years. I graduated from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I minored in reading and Enligh Language Learners. I also hold a teaching endorsement in Environmental and Sustainability Education in the state of Washington.
