PARTS IF THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

PROCESS

the respiratory system

The respiratory system is the system in your body that moves oxygen and carbon dioxide in and out the body.

THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

HEART

The circulatory system is your body’s delivery system. It delivers oxygen and nutrients to every part of your body and picks up waste products on the return way.

BLOOD AND VESSELS

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

The digestive system is the body system that processes the food that we eat and converts it into energy we can use. It also removes waste materials from the body.

Parts

PARTS OF THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

1. Mouth: Teeth and saliva break food. 2. Esophagus: Long muscular tube that moves food from the mouth to the stomach. 3. Stomach: muscular bag that mashes and mixes food with juices. 4. Small intestine: Absorbs nutrients for the body. 5. Large intestine: The waste goes out of the body. The waste is called feces. 6. Liver and Pancreas: They make juices that break down fats and proteins.

PROCESS

Each stage is very important as it gets the food ready for the next stage.

process

  1. Chewing . When you chew pieces of food break into smaller pieces, saliva mixes with the food to break it up more.
  2. Swallowing : the tongue pushes food to the back of the throat special muscles push the food down the esophagus and into the stomach during the next stage.
  3. Food stays in the stomach for 4 hours; The stomach breaks the food down more and it takes proteins from the food that our body can use.
  4. The first part of the small intestine will break down the food even more using juices from the liver and pancreas. Then the food is absorbed into our blood from the intestines.
  5. The last stage is the large intestine. If there is any food that the body doesn't need it goes to the large intestine and it leaves the body as waste

THE FIVE SENSES

Continue

You touch, hear, see, taste and smell in order to adapt to a new environment. The five senses work together all the time so your body can work properly. Your brain is the computer for your body AND interprets the information the senses get. We use our senses to interact with the world around us.

VEINS AND ARTERIES

The heart has 4 chambers that fill with blood. The two chambers on the right receive blood and send itdown to the lungs.

Arteries:  Color red.  Thick tubes.  Take blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Veins:  Thin tubes.  Color blue.  Carry blood back to the heart.

The lungs clean the blood and fill it with oxygen that we breath in.

the clean blood goes back to the heart. The chambers on the left send it out todifferent parts of the body.

YOUR HEART

  • The heart has 4 chambers that fill
  • with blood. The two chambers on
  • the right receive blood and send it
  • down to the lungs. The lungs clean
  • the blood and fill it with oxygen
  • that we breath in. After, the clean
  • blood goes back to the heart. The
  • chambers on the left send it out to
  • different parts of the body.
  • Your heart is the main part of the circulatory system.
  • It is a very strong muscle that is located in the middle of your chest. It is about the size of your fist. The main job of the heart is to send blood to all areas of the body.
  • The blood contains nutrients and oxygen that we need to grow and live and it also gets rid ofthe waste..

FUN FACTS

VS

  1. It takes less than 60 seconds for young heart to pump blood to every cell in your body.
  2. When you are exercising, your muscles need more oxygen and nutrients. Your heart pumps faster so the new blood can be delivered to them, which is why your heartbeat speeds up.
  3. A cardiologist is a doctor who knows about the heart and circulatory system.
  4. Blood is actually blue in colour. It turns red when exposed to oxygen.

VEINS AND ARTERIES

  • Blood moves through many tubes called arteries and veins,
