Finding information

Finding information

Searching the internet

  • Use the website address if you know it. For example www.rte.ie
  • Or you can type what you are looking for into the search box.
  • You don't have to use a full sentence.
  • Just type in the important words (keywords).
  • You can also use the mic and say what you are looking for.

When visiting a website, always check for the secure lock in your web browser.

Keeping safe

Keeping safe

In this section we will look at how to keep you, your device and your personal information safe. We will look at:

  • passwords
  • keeping your information private
  • keeping you and your device safe

What are the dangers around technology?

Can you think of any ways to keep safe?

Passwords

Choose a different, strong password for each account. A strong password uses a mixture of uppercase, lowercase, numbers and special characters and is not easy to guess. Don’t use the same password more than once.
