Prepositions
A preposition connects a noun or a pronoun to another word in the sentence.
Prepositions
Example: The book is on the table. The preposition on relates the noun table to another word in the sentence, book.
Prepositional phrases
A prepositional phrase is made up of a preposition, the object of the preposition, and any modifiesrs of the object. Prepositional phrases modify other words by functioning either as adjectives or as adverbs.

In the following example from "House taken over" underline the prepositions and hightlight the object of the preposition.
