the early modern ages
The Early Modern Age started in 1492. In that year Columbus discovered America.
After this other explorers sailed around the world and discovered many places.
As you know, the printing press was invented in the 15th century. After that there were more books.
Ships were better and faster than before.
The compass rose was invented and explorers made better maps.
Two of the most important writers along history lived in this period.
Shakespeare worte plays as Romeo and Juliet.Cervantes wrote Don Quijote, one of the first novels in history.

This period was called the Golgen Age in Spain. It was an important time for art and literature

Other Spanish writers and artists lived then.

Spain conquered many lands in America, Asia and Africa. It established a big empire.
In 1789 there was a revolution in France. This is a very big change and this was the end of the Early Modern Age.
