Who does the President Appoint?

The president is a person who is elected to lead the country. He is responsible for signing bills into laws, and making agreements with other countries. He is also responsible for our country’s military. The president is also responsible for appointing leaders for our country. The leaders that he appoints are judges for the Supreme Court, the Secretary of Education and the Secretary of Defense. All of these leaders help our country’s government establish order, provide security, and manage conflict.

Who does the Governor Appoint?

The governor is a person who is elected to office in the state of Texas. He is responsible for running the state. He helps pass laws and can say that some laws should not be passed. He also shares ideas on how to spend money for the state. Another role he/she has is to appoint, or choose, other state leaders. He/she is responsible for choosing different leaders that are in charge of Texas’ health care system, state parks, and maintaining roads.

Who does the Mayor Appoint?

After a mayor is elected into office, he/she can then select who does certain jobs to help manage the city. The mayor has the authority to appoint public officials to help establish order, provide security, and manage conflict in the local community. An example of an appointed public official is a city manager. The city manager helps with different projects for the city. They are responsible for planning out where parks will be located, or getting new businesses to come to the city. The city manager in Frisco is George Purefoy.

Some public officials are elected, like the mayor, governor, and president. Some public officials are appointed, like city manager, principal of a school, and teacher at a school.
