Of Digital Workplace projects are driven by IT
“Organizations are successful because of good implementation, not good business plans.” as Guy Kawasaki said. Receiving support from the general management is a success factor for the deployment of strategic and cross-functional projects such as Digital Workplaces are. As a hybrid adventure between man and technology, it is often a matter of a successful collaboration between IT (22%) and HR (14%) that enables the foundational work for the implementation of the Digital Workplace. Even though customers are of great importance to every business, it comes only 4th in this international ranking (9%). In this context we get to understand the actual meaning of cross-functional data: it is all about sharing user data on for operational business intelligence purposes. Hence, it is evident that the contemporary Digital Workplace is much more than just an optimized type of intranet.

Data management is at the core of a Digital Workplace. With a growing tendency for information overload, it became essential for companies to manage these masses of data in an efficient manner in order to impact a fact-based decision-making process. Hence, the major concern of a Digital Workplace is the gathering of data diversity within a common platform. Thus, for 26% the “Compilation of data from different sources” is the main benefit provided by a Digital Workplace; favoring “Innovation” (22%) and the “Compliance with internal rules and regulations” (20%) which follow in second and third position. It is therefore a consensus with three crucial factors that is at the heart of the Digital Workplace.

How Sinequa can help
Organizations now need to build digital workplaces overnight. Remote working makes the in-office challenges of sharing knowledge, interacting, and collaborating even harder. To do their jobs remotely, employees need access to information spread across multiple systems. They need a unified view of the information most relevant to their role. For example, a customer service agent needs to see products, transactions, and interactions by customer. Intelligent Search is a cornerstone.
