The city of Rome was founded in 753 B.C. (Before Christ)
THE ROMANS
They had a huge empire and they conquered many places in the Coast of the Mediterranean Sea

The Roman Empire conquered the Iberian Peninsula: First the coast, then the centre and finally the north
They arrived on the Iberian Peninsula in 218 B.C. and they called it: HISPANIA
THE ROMANS
The Roman cities had big walls or aqueducts to bring water to the people.

They also had amphitheatres or triumphal walls in the city

The society was divided into:
Free people
Slaves
THE ROMANS
The cities in Hispania adapted to Roman culture.
Christianity became the official religion and Latin was the official language

The Romans built many churches and temples and they decorated them with mosaics
THE ROMANS
Today, we share some culture with Romans...
