Hello everyone! How are you?

How are you feeling in this quarantine?

Is social distancing difficult for you?

As in many other countries, our government forced us to be in lockdown, so we can’t go out or do many of the things we enjoyed doing before Covid-19.

We know the coronavirus pandemic changed our lives.

We know we all miss so many things, but for now, we have to be patient and take care!

1. Read this conversation between Megan and her Argentinian friend Laura talking about what they miss doing before the quarantine.

Pay attention to the questions they ask each other.

M: What do you miss the most about life before social distancing?

L: I miss seeing my friends at school. I liked talking to them at recess.

M: Did you normally see them after school too?

L: No, I didn’t. We were so busy with homework after school! But we enjoyed going to McDonalds on Fridays after school.

M: Did you regularly get together to study too?

L: No, we didn’t. It was difficult for us to get together to study because we live far from each other.

M: And what about the weekends, did you go out together with them at weekends?

L: Yes, I did.

M: What did you like doing at weekends?

L: I loved going to the cinema or going out with them. What do you miss the most about life before lockdown?

M: I miss seeing my grandparents. Before lockdown, I visited my grandparents every weekend, now I only see them in video calls.

L: Did your grandma learn how to make video calls?

M: Yes, she did. Before lockdown, she didn’t use her phone a lot, but now she calls everyone!

L: Did you visit your grandparents very regularly before lockdown?

M: Yes, I did. I usually visited them every weekend.

L: What did you do with them?

M: I cooked with my grandma and I listened to old rock records with my grandpa. I also loved going out with them.

L: Where did you usually go with them?

M: I usually walked in the park with them or we visited other relatives like my aunts and uncles who live in out of town.

L: When did you see them for the last time?

M: I was with them the night the quarantine was announced. That was the last time I was with them. I miss them a lot.
