REGULAR VERBS

Los Regular Verbs son la gran mayoría de los verbos en Inglés. Se llaman regulares porque tanto su forma de pasado como de participio son iguales.1) Por regla general forman su pasado añadiendo a su forma de infinitivo la terminación -ED: work - worked play - played jump - jumped park - parked wanted - wanted look - looked 2) Si el verbo termina en -E, solo añadirá la terminación -D: dance - danced live - lived like - liked bake - baked type - typed 3) Si el verbo termina en consonante + y, cambia la -y por -i, añadiendo -ED: study - studied marry - married dry - dried carry - carried 4) Si el verbo tiene una sílaba (pero que no acaben en: y, w, x) o dos sílabas y están acentuados en la 2ª sílaba * y termina en CONSONANTE + VOCAL + CONSONANTE, repiten la consonante final y añaden -ED: stop - stopped trap - trapped plan - planned * prefer - preferred

Los Irregular Verbs, a diferencia de los Regular Verbs, NO forman su pasado o participio con la terminación -ed.a) Algunos Irregular Verbs tienen las tres formas, infinitivo, pasado y participio, iguales: Infinitive: cost Past: cost Past participle: cost cut cut cut b) Otros tienen su forma the pasado y de participio iguales: Infinitive: buy Past: bought Past Participle: bought teach taught taught c) Otros tienen las tres formas diferentes: Infinitive break Past broke Past Participle broken begin began begun * Para formar al pasado solo usaremos las formas de Infinitive y de Past. .

Para hacer la forma afirmativa de un Verbo Regular en Pasado, usaremos la forma del pasado del verbo. Recuerden que los Verbos Regulares añaden, por regla general, La terminación -ED. Por ejemplo, si usamos el verbo WORK: LIVE STOP I worked I lived I stopped you worked you lived you stopped she/he/it worked she/he/it lived she/he/it stopped we/you/they worked we/you/they lived we/you/they stopped Como pueden ver, usamos la misma forma para todas las personas. Traducción: trabajé/trabajaba: viví/vivía: paré/paraba
