EACH

NEITHER EITHER

Neither refers to two people, things, groups and has a negative meaning.

Examples:

Neither dress is long enough. Neither parent came to meet the teacher. Neither dress fitted her. Neither of the films has/have won an award. Neither of us went to the concert. Neither of the birthday cards was suitable.

Either refers to two people, things, groups.

Examples:

You can paint it blue or green. Either colour is beautiful. Either of these dresses suits/suit you.

WHOLE

Whole is used with a singular countable noun.

Examples:

I can't believe he ate the whole cake!
